In herbiceous plants or in small plants where root pressure is high and rate of transpiration is low then water is tend to be out in the form of drop from the margin of the leaf is called as guttation also transpiration may occur from the tip of the leaf.

In other words the process of loss of water in the form of drop from the margin or from tip of the leaf is called guttation.

=> Guttation takes place through the specialised pores called

=> The reason for cause of guttation is root pressure.
