haemocoel (plural haemocoels) (biology) The cavity, between the organs of arthropods and molluscs, through which the blood etc.

In some groups of animals, the body cavity is reduced and filled with blood, thus it is called haemocoel. The animals belonging to phylum Arthropoda and Mollusca have haemocoel.
