Answer:

Hemoglobin is a pigment in our blood which gives it its maroon or red colour. I binds with oxygen to form oxyhemoglobin which supply oxygen to all the cells of the body. But when exposed to Carbon Monoxide it binds with it and forms carboxychemoglobin which is very harmful for human cells and may result in death it exposed for a long time.
