Answer:

Halley's Comet or Comet Halley, officially designated 1P/Halley, is a short-period comet visible from Earth every 75–76 years. Halley is the only known short-period comet that is regularly visible to the naked eye from Earth, and the only naked-eye comet that can appear twice in a human lifetime.

Halley's Comet is a comet with a period averaging 76 years. It was visible to terrestrial observers just before and after reaching perihelion in 1910 and again in 1986.

More About it:⤵

It is a comet - effectively a very large dirty snowball which probably originated in the Oort Cloud (a cloud of very cold debris left over from the creation of the Solar System around 300 AUs to 500 AUs from the Sun ). The current best theory about comets is that when they form they are stable within the Oort Cloud, and then they are perturbed from the cloud by close encounters with other stars or even some extra system bodies (like rogue planets). When objects are perturbed their direction, and velocity will depend on a lot of factors, and some therefore could be sent out of the Cloud into interstellar space, and some will fall inwards to the Sun. Those that fall towards the Sun will gradually get heated - the ice and gases trapped in the ‘snowball’ will start to evaporate, and the comet will become considerably brighter and will gain a tail of particles and gas molecules streaming away from the Sun and it’s radiation. Halley’s comet is one of these which has been perturbed inward.

Halley last appeared in the inner parts of the Solar System in 1986 and will next appear in mid-2061.
