Haplodiploid sex determination is the process of sex determination in which the unfertilised egg develops into a male organism called as HAPLOID while a fertilised egg develops into a female called as DIPLOID.
The males are in some cases called as male drones while the female are called as workers.
There is an existence of a Queen who is the sole head of the creature group.
The queen produces eggs which when fertilised develops into females and when remain unfertilised develops into a male haploid.
Also,
The queen produces a ROYAL JELLY or The Royal Egg which develops into the new Queen. This new queen will be the successor of the mother queen.
Haplodiploidy determines the sex in all ants, bees, wasps,et cetera. Also in some spiders, mites, bark beetles.
In Haplodiploid sex determination, sex is determined by number of chromosomes that the offspring receives.
This means that when the organism is formed by only egg will have less number of chromosomes then that of which is formed by fusion of sperm and egg.
In Haplodiploid sex determination,
Male offspring have half number of chromosomes than the female counterparts.
Terms to know :-
☸️ MEOSIS - It is also called as reductional division which takes place when the gamete formed has half number of chromosomes than the initial number.
☸️ MITOSIS - It is also called as Equational division which takes place when normal cell division occurs.

It is a system in which unfertilized egg turns into haploid male and fertilized egg turns into diploid female.
Example: In honeybees.
