When the side of the square becomes half of it's original length, it's area becomes one-fourth. you can check this by taking side x.
Area= x^2
it it's length is halved
area=x^2/2^2 that is
x^2/4
Area= x^2
it it's length is halved
area=x^2/2^2 that is
