It is one of the most useful and popular storage devices . A hard disk pack consists of a number of rigid circular metallic plates coated with iron oxide. These circular plates are mounted on a common spindle and this pack is rotated at a high speed.The disc surface contains circular parts call tracks. Each trackers for the divided in the sectors and form clusters when combined.
The data is recorded on the disc through the read write head, which resembles a record player. The information that comes from the CPU is recorded digitally on the disk surface to the read write head. Also, the information is retrieved digitally from the disk through the read write head to the computer system for further processing.
