Hardness in water can be described as the presence of such chemicals which makes it useless and thereby, wastes soap and does not lather readily. It occurs due to the presence of sulphides, bicarbonates in water. It is divided into two types:

  1. Temporary Hard Water.
  2. Permanent Hard Water.
