F is directly proportion to its displacement ,the motion is harmonic .

I.e.

F = - KX

if this condition is not satisfying then motion is non harmonic

When particle performs periodic function and its function is in the form of sin or cos then this type of motion is called harmonic motion..

Non harmonic motion

When the particle performs periodic motion but its function is not in form of sin or cos..then it is called non harmonic motion....
Like motion of needle of watch...
