The heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body. The human circulatory system, is responsible for the transport of material inside the human body. The organs of the circulatory system are the heart, arteries, veins and capillaries.

It comprises four Chambers :

1. Atria (upper chamber)

2. ventricles (lower chamber)

the wall of the heart is made up of three layers:

1. epicardium: this is a protective layer made of connective tissue.

2. myocardium: this layer form the heart muscles.

3. Endocardium: this is the innermost layer and protect the valves and the heart.
