What is heat ? What are the physical changes that are observed when an object is heated ?

heat is a form of energy which flows from hot body to a cold body until the temperature has become equal.
when the objects r heated the expand like iron

heat is the form of energy - it is transferred from one object to another (system to another ) due to a difference in temperature of the two systems.

its temperature changes
it expands in size in all directions.
it may change color.
the object gains energy and stores in it.
