When an electric current is passed through a conductor , it becomes hot after some time produces heat. This happens due to the conversion of electric energy , passing through the conductor, into heat energy. This effect of electric current is called heating effect of electric current.

what is heating effect of electric current with full explanation ?
When an electric current is passed through a high resistance wire like nichrome wire the resistance wire becomes very hot and producing this is called a heating effect of a current .
W = Q×V
FROM THE DEFINITION OF THE CURRENT WE KNOW THAT
equation (1)
form the ohm's law we have :
equation ( 2)
Potential differences, V= I×R ---------(3)
now putting Q= I×t and V= I×R in equation (1) we get
W = I×t×I×R
SO, WORK DONE , W = I²×R×t
assuming that all electrical work done on the electrical energy consumed is heat converted into energy we can write heat produced in the place of the work done in above equation :-
Heat produced , H = I² ×R × t joules .
