Hemoglobin is the protein molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs .

Due to the deficiency of haemoglobin in blood, its oxygen carrying capacity decreases . As a result the production of energy by oxidation will become slower . One would fall sick and would feel fatigue most of the time .
