Heredity, by definition, is passing of a characteristig genetically from one generation to another. They are stored in DNA that gets passed on and that we all get from our parents.

Some traits you can inherit are: height, eye colour, hair colour etc. Sometimes even some illnesess can be passed on genetically; such as HIV virus.
