Heredity is the genetic and epigenetic traits that people get from their ancestors through their parents’ DNA as modified by any inherited epigenetic changes to the way that some of the genes in that DNA are expressed.
EXPLANATION
Inherited epigenetic traits may silence or activate some of the genetic traits in the DNA that people get from their parents and can sometimes significantly change the way a person develops. Inheritable epigenetic modifications of the genetic traits can change from one generation to another depending on each ancestor’s lifestyle and environmental living conditions etc.

Additional epigenetic modifications may also take place during people’s lifetime to make further changes in the way that the genetic traits they inherited from their parents are expressed.
