Cleavage in which unequal distribution of Electron takes place during the bond cleavage is known as heterolytical cleavage.

Due of unequal distribution of electron ,ions are formed . That's why it is also known as homolytical cleavage.

Cleavage in which equal distribution of Electron takes place during the chemical reaction is known as homolytical cleavage.

Due to equal distribution of Electron , without change unpaired Electron species is formed , which is known as free radical .

Explanation:

Homolytic cleavage is the breaking of a covalent bond in such a way that each fragment gets one of the shared electrons. ... In homolytic cleavage, the two electrons in the bond are divided equally between the products. In heterolytic cleavage, one atom gets both of the shared electrons.
