formation of two different kinds of spores is called heterospory. often plants like selaginella (a pteridophyte) form two kinds of spores ie microspores and megaspores. microspores give rise to male gametophyte and megaspores give rise to female gametophyte.
but lycopodium (also a pteridophyte) is homosporous i.e same size of spores are formed. hope this helps you.
