Specific Heat Capacity is the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of unit mass of a substance by 1 degree Celsius.

The specific heat capacity of water is 4200 J/Kg degrees Celsius.
It means that 4200 J of heat is required to raise the temperature of 1 Kg of water by 1 degree Celsius.
