हिन्दी एक भाषा है जिसकी लिपि देवनागरी है। इस शब्द का निर्माण सिन्धु से हुआ है। ईरान में जाकर यह शब्द हिन्दु हो गया क्योंकि वहाँ स ध्वनि नहीं है। बाद में इसे ही हिन्दी कहने लगे।
