holozoic nutrition is a type of nutrition in which the complex form of food is broken down into simpler form when it is engulfed or intake.

herbivores, carnivorous and omnivores poses holozoic mode of nutrition. complex food molecules are taken inn and then broken into simpler soluble molecules. in this type of nutrition ex. amoeba , cow , goat and human being etc......are some of the examples ..
there are 5 certain process occur:-
1) ingestion
2) digestion
3) absorption
4) assimilation
5) egestion...

Holozoic nutrition is absent in plants because, plants prepare complex food materials (glucose) from simpler food (h2o and CO2) . thus Holozoic nutrition term is not used for plants
