Homogeneous nature of a substance means it is uniform and consists of particles of same type, nature, properties, and size.  They all appear alike.

It is used for checking the purity of a substance or solution.  Homogeneity affects reactions.  Chemical elements or compounds are identified depending on homogeneity when dissolved in a solvent.
