A gene is called to be Homozygous, where same alleles on both homologous chromosomes are present. If it is of dominant trait, they are referred by two capital letters (XX), whereas two lowercase letters (xx) denoted for recessive trait. This is opposit to Heterozygous, where one has two different alleles.
