Hi friend,

Hormones are the chemical substances secured by ductless glands called endocrine glands. They are called ductless because they don't have ducts to transport their secretion body.
Glands with ducts are called escocrine glands.

Hormones control difference functions in our body.

CHARACTERISTICS OF HORMONES-:

•The hormones are produced by endocrine glands.
•They are transported by blood of the various parts of the body.
•They never act at the place where they are formed. The places where they act are called target organs or site.
•They are always needed in specific amount.
•If they are secreted in access it will lead to gigantism.
•If they are produced is less quantity then it will lead to drafness.

Different types of hormones are-:
•Pituitary gland,in brain,hormone secreted is growth hormone.
•Thyroid gland,in neck,produces thyroxine.
•Adrenal gland,above kidney,produces adrenalin.
•Pancreas,behind stomach,produces insulin,glucogen.
•Testes, outside the stomach in scortum, hormone produced is testosterone.
•Ovary,in the lower abdomen,produces estrogen.

Hope it helped you..............

Hormones are such an active messenger substance, which they can define as follows.

Due to such active circulatory, substance which is an external or endocrine stimulation, it is currently transmitted by the endocrine glands of any part of the body and transmitted through the blood to the whole body. Its subtle amount is enough to affect the functioning of body cells.

"Hormones are usually protein, amino acids, steroids or their derivatives, their molecular weight decreases and after the verb they are destroyed."

☞ The first hormone secretin was discovered in the year 1903 by Bayliss and Stirling Starling.

Ernest Starling used the word Hormon in 1905.

The following are the characteristics of the hormones.

(i) Humans with low molecular weight and in water. Soluble molecules are water

(ii) Hormones are organic catalysts and act like coenzyme in tissues.

(iii) All Harmon's plasma art can come across.

(iv) Hormones show tissue specificity, but caste specificity does not reflect.

(v ) A special hormone only affects the specific organ or cell, which is called the Target organ or Target cell and this process is called organ specificity.

( vi) Hormones act as a chemical messenger and affect their functioning without participating directly in metabolic processes.

(vii) Hmons are not stored in the body. Hence their synthesis continues in the body.
