the state of not having enough food to eat, especially when this causes illness or death is called hunger.

The differences between seasonal hunger and chronic hunger are as follows:-

1) Seasonal hunger is associated with cycles of food growing and harvesting. On the other hand, chronic hunger is a result of people not getting food in terms of quality and quantity.

2) Seasonal hunger is widespread in rural areas due to seasonal nature of agriculture and in urban areas due to casual labour. People suffer from chronic hunger mostly in rural areas due to their low income and their inability to buy food for survival.

3) Seasonal hunger occurs year after year while chronic hunger continues for a long time leading to death.
