A hydrocarbon is an organic compound made of nothing more than carbons and hydrogen.It is possible for double or triple to form between carbon atoms and even for structures, such as rings, to form.Saturated hydrocarbons have as many hydrogen atoms as possible attached to every carbon

\textbf{Hydrocarbon}
__________

A compound which is made up of hydrogen and carbon only is known as hydrocarbon.

There are two types of Hydrocarbon :-

1 ) = Saturated hydrocarbon
2 ) = Unsaturated hydrocarbon

\textbf{Saturated hydrocarbon} =>

A hydrocarbon in which the carbon atoms are connected by only single bonds is known as saturated hydrocarbon.

Examples = methane , ethane , propane etc.

Saturated hydrocarbon are also known as Alkane and the general formula of Alkane is CnH2n+2.

\textbf{Unsaturated hydrocarbon} =>

Unsaturated hydrocarbon are those hydrocarbon in which the two carbon atoms are connected by " double bond " or " triple bond ".

There are two types of unsaturated hydrocarbon =

1 ).= Alkenes and
2 ) = Alkynes.

● Alkenes are those hydrocarbon which contain double bond of carbon - carbon atom. The general formula of Alkene is CnH2n.

● Alkynes are those hydrocarbon in which carbons atom are connected by triple bond. The general formula of Alkynes is CnH2n-2.
