❤️Hydrocarbon is an organic compound consisting entirely of hydrogen and carbon.

➡️Aliphatic hydrocarbons are divided into three main groups according to the types of bonds they contain:

1⃣ alkanes,

2⃣alkenes,

3⃣alkynes.

➡️ Alkanes have only single bonds,

➡️Alkenes contain a carbon-carbon double bond,

➡️ Alkynes contain a carbon-carbon triple bond.

Hydrocarbon

____________________________________________

A compound which is made up of hydrogen and carbon only is known as hydrocarbon.

There are two types of Hydrocarbon :-

1 ) = Saturated hydrocarbon

2 ) = Unsaturated hydrocarbon

● Saturated hydrocarbon =>

A hydrocarbon in which the carbon atoms are connected by only single bonds is known as saturated hydrocarbon.

Examples = methane , ethane , propane etc.

Saturated hydrocarbon are also known as Alkane and the general formula of Alkane is CnH2n+2.

● Unsaturated hydrocarbon

Unsaturated hydrocarbon are those hydrocarbon in which the two carbon atoms are connected by " double bond " or " triple bond ".

There are two types of unsaturated hydrocarbon

1 ).= Alkenes and

2 ) = Alkynes.

● Alkenes are those hydrocarbon which contain double bond of carbon - carbon atom. The general formula of Alkene is CnH2n.

● Alkynes are those hydrocarbon in which carbons atom are connected by triple bond. The general formula of Alkynes is CnH2n-2.
