It's the attractive interaction of a hydrogen attached to highly electonegative atom with another electonegative such as N, F, O that comes from another molecule or chemical group
It is stronger than van der waals interaction ( has energy 5-30kj/mol)
It occurs in both organic and inorganic molecules such as DNA and water
Ethanol, amine etc can form H-bond with water, so these are soluble in water although these are covalent compounds
