Hydropower is a process that converts the kinetic energy of water when released from some height into electrical or mechanical energy.

  • As the name suggests, this type of power is related to water.
  • The power of the water when in movement (falls from a particular height) is used to get electrical or mechanical energies and this power is thus termed as hydropower.
  • Hydropower is very beneficial for us as it is a renewable source of energy and doesn't causes any problems related to pollution.
