Answer:

this is answer

Explanation:

Tonicity is a measure of the effective osmotic pressure gradient; the water potential of two solutions separated by a semipermeable cell membrane. In other words, tonicity is the relative concentration of solutes dissolved in solution which determine the direction and extent of diffusion

Answer:

Osmosis is a process by which the molecules of a solvent pass from a solution of low concentration to a solution of high concentration through a semi-permeable membrane. It is a passive process and happens without any expenditure of energy. It involves the movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration to lower concentration until the concentrations become equal on either side of the membrane. Any solvent can undergo the process of osmosis including gases and supercritical liquids.

Types of solutions

There are three different types of solutions:

Isotonic Solution

Hypertonic Solution

Hypotonic Solution

Hypertonic solution

A hypertonic solution is one that has a higher solute concentration outside the cell than inside. If a cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, the cell will shrink due to water osmotically moving out. The outside solution has higher soluble concentration than inside the cell. Thus water molecules move from inside to outside the cell. A solution whose concentration is less than the cell sap or inside of a cell. A plant cell becomes turgid when putting in a hypotonic solution.
