Hypothesis is a propositional statement to assume somethings or certain occurrences without the supporting empirical evidence yet. Reason we use hypothesis is to set certain assumed scenario, situation, background etc. so that further scientific research or investigation can be embarked on.
Finding different researchers developed their hypotheses differently which are dependent on the research problem, research objective(s), research question(s) and conceptual framework / research model. Some researchers can develop their hypotheses based on research questions whereas some prefer to develop their hypotheses after they had drawn up the conceptual framework / research model.
Types of hypotheses are as numerated in above post by previous researcher / scholar. Finding types of hypotheses being worded are also influenced by research methods or data analyses that the researcher is going to adopt e.g. variable to variable relationship, simple / multiple regression, mediation / moderation effect, analysis of variances / differences etc.
