Currently there're two exams(both r compulsory) for the one who wants to grab a seat in one of the 23 IITs.
They're
1) JEE Main
The older name for JEE Main was AIEEE.
It is conducted by CBSE(central board of secondary education).
The paper consists of Phy, Chem and Maths questions.
There are 90 questions in total(30 from each subject).
Total marks is out of 360.
Almost 10-12 lakhs students appear for this exam in each year.
2,20,000 students r shortlisted for writing JEE Advanced. The cut-off is usually between 74 and 110.
This year's cut-off was 74.
Last year's was 81.
All questions are omr type(1 among 4 option is correct).

Students who get 25,000(general category) rank or above r lucky ones. They can get into one of the 32 NITs
2) JEE Advanced
It's older name was IIT-JEE exam.
It's conducted by one among the 23 IITs.
This year, it's going to be conducted by IIT-Kanpur. Last year it was conducted by IIT-Madras.
The Mark Scheme always changes..
The question pattern too are subjected to change .
Last year the exam was out of 372 marks.
This is considered as ONE of the most toughest engineering exam in the WORLD and the most toughest in the COUNTRY.
It's question pattern is entirely different from JEE Main. It consists of Multiple Choice (more than 1 correct), Matrix Match, Numeral questions, nd few(almost 10) Omr type questions (1 among 4 option is correct)
The subjects are Phy, Chem and Maths.
One should have a very deep knowledge inorder to pass JEE Advanced.
Almost 2 lakhs students are allowed to write this exam every year (after getting selected in JEE Main).
There're only 10,000 seats in all 23 IITs in total.
U have to get minimum 3000 rank in order to get in to ur fav. IIT nd fav. Branch.
The best thing is to get rank with in 100!

Indian Institute of technology and in it u give two exam and if u will pass both exam u will be able to a very good career. it's done after 12 exam and cbse recognition of this exam
