Immunization is a process by which host's resistance is increased to a specific disease.

Explanation:

  • In immunization process our body is able to fight against a specific infection and resist the disease caused by that particular microorganism.
  • Two types of Immunization takes place. one is active immunization and another is passive immunization.
  • Active immunization is achieved mainly by vaccination where killed or attenuated microbes are administrated  to the body to induce host immune system , so that body will be resistant to that microbes if it infect second time.
  • In passive immunization antibody containing serum or pre formed immune cells are administrated to our body. In this case body's own immune system is not induced.
