Immunity can be natural ie innate. or actively or passively acquired.

Immunization improves the immune system by making it resistant to an antigen which it had not previously encountered with..... thus memory cells are already made and hence when a body is attacked by such an antigen against which the immunization has been done then the antibodies are quickly made and the disease is remove without much wear or tear of the body cells...
