The growing imperialist rivalry was responsible for the slow formation of an anti-German alliance system in Europe
IMPERIALISM:
• After the Industrialization in Europe, the developed countries started conquering developing or under developed countries.
• Countries like Britain, France started making colonies.
• The later developed countries like Italy, Germany etc demanded for redistribution of the colonies.
• The early developed countries could not meet the demands of later developed countries.
• This raised the tensions in the Europe and became one of the reasons for World war.
BALKAN POLITICS:
• Balkan peninsula is an area in Europe where people of different ethnics and sects lived.
• Balkan peninsula comprised of present countries like Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Croatia etc.
• This region was under the control of Ottoman Empire.
• Gradually, the people started proliferating and formed small kingdoms.
• These independent kingdoms started hatring each other.
