 1. site ,situation and the history of a place plays a vital role in human settlement.

2. By these three, people can choose a good place for their settlement.

3. site can tell about the geographical features of the place like altitude etc. so people can select place which has natural water resources, some altitude etc then go and settle there.

4. situation can help us to know for which place it has links with, will it be safe to live there. It will help people to settle in a safe place.

5. People want to know the history of the place when they settle. History of the place helps us to know this.

6. This is the importance of these three terms in settlement.

1.site refers the characteristics of place its topography, altitude, water characteristics (places with lakes, rivers, underground water, type of soil, security, shelter from natural forces)
2.shivaji chose pratapghad because of its altitude from where all the sorrounding areas could be seen.
3.situation describes the connections with other places.
