IMPORTANT FACTS REGARDING CHEMICAL EQUATIONS :

✨ Chemical equations should be the indicator of real chemical reaction.

✨ Equation should be balanced , i.e. the number of atoms of each element should be the same on both sides of the arrow sign (—>).

✨ Reactants and products involved in reactions should be known.

✨It should be expressed by symbols (for metal and other elements) and molecular formula.

For example , sodium and calcium should be expressed by Na and Ca and nitrogen and oxygen should be expressed by N2 and O2 neither by N and O.

\underline{ANSWER}

▶Chemical reactions can be classified on the basis of

☯ Physical state of the reactants and products,

☯Direction of the reaction,

☯ Absorption or evolution of heat during the reaction, and

☯ The nature of the chemical reaction.

▶In a chemical reaction, the molecules of one substance break apart and join together with those of another substance to create a different compound (combination of molecules).

▶Heat energy is given out in exothermic reactions. Endothermic reactions require heat to proceed.

▶Reduction can be defined as the loss of oxygen or combination with hydrogen or gain of electrons by an ion, atom or molecule.

▶Mixtures and solutions are different from chemical reactions as the molecules of the substances stay the same.

▶Some reactions are reversible, which means the products can be changed back to the original reactants. Others, such as making toast, are irreversible.
