Impulse is the wave of irritability that sweeps over the nerve cell . This results from stimulus and brings about response .

\huge{\texttt{\underline{EXPLANATION}}}

▶ Stimulus is the change in the environment of an organism that results in the change of the organism or in any of its body parts.

▶ Response is the change in the body of the organism that helps in protecting the organism from stimulus.

▶ The impulse occurs in our nervous system and it is brought about by stimulus.

▶ During the impulse , certain movement of ions occur in the nerve cells.

▶ These ions conduct impulse and hence the impulse reaches brain.

▶ The brain then sends impulses to the receptors .

▶ The receptors contract or relax and take action.

▶ This is the mechanism of our nervous impulse.
