hey friend...

Impluse is the change of an object when the object is acted upon by for an interval of time.
so with impulse u can calculate the change in momentum or u can use impulse to calculate the average impact force of a collision.

since force is a vector quantity,impulse is also a vector quantity in the same direction.impulse applied to an object produces an equivalent vector change in its linear momentum,also in the same direction hence is called a vector quantity.
