An impulsive force is a very great force acting for a very short time on a body, so that the change in the position of the body during the time the force acts on it may be neglected. The impulsive force is much stronger than any other force available at that point of time.

I hope its help for you:)

Explanation:

Impulse is the product of force and time for which it is applied. It is a vector quantity. It is relevant to forces which act for a very short interval of time.

Impulse = Force × Time.

Forces acting for short time are known as impulsive forces. Example: Hitting a nail with a hammer.
