Hey mate....

Mixtures are impure substances as they do not contain particles of similar type. example: cement is not the pure substance as it is made up of particles of lime, water, etc.

A pure substance is one which is made up of only one kind of the molecules.

It has definite composition and properties.

All the elements and compounds are pure substances.

Some examples are Oxygen, Hydrogen , Gold, Silver, Copper, Common Salt , pure water, alum etc..

An impure substance is one which is a mixture of two or more kinds of the molecules and has no definite composition and properties..

Examples are Air , Soil , stones & pebbles in the food grains , sugar in water , sand in water , fruit juice etc

Mixtures of elements or compounds in a substance are called as impure substance. Example of impure substance are as follows: Salt mixed in water. Sand mixed in water.

Mixtures are impure substances as they do not contain particles of similar type. example: cement is not the pure substance as it is made up of particles of lime, water, etc.

Matter can be classified as-

•Solids

•Liquids

•Gases by physical state.

But on basis of composition matter can be classified as-

•Pure substances further classified as-

-Elements - Metals, Non-Metals, Metalloids

-Compounds- organic, inorganic

•Impure substances (Mixtures) further classified as-

-Homogeneous Mixtures- solutions

--Hetrogeneous mixtures- colloids and suspensions.

Let's discuss about them further-

•Pure substances- Substances which consists of same type of particle's(atoms or molecules).

-Elements- Substances which contains same type of atoms. Example- Helium, Sodium, etc.

-Compounds- Substances which consists of two or more different type of atoms chemically combined in fixed ratio to make a molecule. Example- CO2, H2O, etc.

•Impure substances(Mixtures)- Substances which consists of two or more pure substances(element or compounds) physically mixed in any promotion. Example- Blood, water, etc.

-Homogeneous Mixtures- Mixture in which components completely dissolves, they exist in one face and there is no boundary of separation between them. For example- Alloys, Brine, air, etc.

-Hetrogeneous Mixtures- The elements which components do not dissolves completely. They exist in more than one phase and their is a visible boundary of separation between them. For example- Sand in water, oil in water , milk, blood.

That's all!

Hope it helps..!!!!
