In vitro fertilisation is when the baby is allowed to first grow upto a cirtain stage in a test tube and then is transferred to the mothers womb ....

What really happens is the ovum of the mother/donor and the sperm of the father/donor are fertilised inside the test tube .... later when the fertilisation is successfull .... the zygote is transfered to the mothers womb for further development ..
