It is a reaction between oxygen and fuel where combustion reaction occurs in insufficient supply of oxygen and byproducts are formed such as Carbon Monoxide, Water and Carbon.

For example :- Burning of coal, where a lot of soot and Carbon Monoxide is released.

Hey,

Here's your answer

Incomplete combustion When the amount of oxygen present in the air is not sufficient, then incomplete combustion of fuel takes place which produces a highly poisonous carbon monoxide gas.

*In incomplete combustion the residue is left behind.

Hope this helps!!!
