Answer:

Incomplete combustion is also a reaction between oxygen and fuel but the products are carbon monoxide, water and carbon. Eg: 4CH4 + 5O2→ 2CO + 8H2O + 2C.

• Incomplete combustion occurs when a combustion reaction occurs without a sufficient supply of oxygen...

hope this will help you..

Incomplete combustion occurs when a substance is ignited in a limited supply of oxygen. Complete combustion results in formation of CO₂ while incomplete combustion results in formation of CO.

Complete Combustion of Propane:

C₃H₈ + 7 O₂ --> 3 CO₂ + 4 H₂O

Incomplete combustion of Propane:

2 C₃H₈ + 7 O₂ --> 6 CO + 8 H₂O

In incomplete combustion, the ratio of volume of propane to oxygen is lower.

Further reducing the amount of O₂ will result in the formation of C rather than CO.
