What is India's place in the world in accordance of plant diversity ?

India ranks fourth in Asia and 10th in the world in terms of plant diversity, which is as per the records of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU).

The explanation given to support the answer is that the country  produces 30,000 species of the 50,000 varieties of rice, sugarcane, mango, jackfruit, banana, coconut, goose berries, pigeon peas, okra, bitter gourd, turmeric, ginger, pepper, cardamom, bamboo and indigo, along with many other wild trees.
