The upper house of the parliament is called the Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha is also called the 'House of the People'. A Speaker is elected amongst the members, he or she is chosen from the ruling party. The Lok Sabha certifies money bills and is more powerful in that.
The lower house is called the Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha's speaker is the vice president of the country. Each member in the Rajya Sabha a term of six years. The members who are part of this Sabha are chosen from the distinguished personalities like authors, journalists, scientists.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR BECOMING A MEMBER OF LOK SABHA
1. The person should be above 25 years.
2. Should not hold any salaried government job
3. Should not be bankrupt or be unstable.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR BECOMING A MEMBER OF RAJYA SABHA
1. The person should be above 35 years.
2. Should not hold any salaried government job.
