- Indicator in chemistry is a universal indicator which determines whether the solution is acid or base.
- It shows us the nature of solution on the basis of colour on the PH paper.
- If the range of PH is from 0 - 6.9 then the solution is said to be acidic.
- If the range of PH is from 7.1 - 14 then the solution is said to be basic in nature.
- The solution having 7 as PH value is said to be neutral. e.g Distilled water.
