Before 1800, the typical moth named as biston bitularia species had light colour pattern. dark colour or melanic moths were rare. nd they lives on light coloured tree trunk. so, predator see dark colour moths easily. so they were rare but. after industrialization, these tree trunks become darkened. so now light coloured moths which were camouflage earlier, can now be easily seen by predators. nd then light coloured moths we're being killed by predators nd dark coloured moths starts increasing. So, natural selection drives evolution. It is directional natural selection.
