1. Inequality comes about when a person does not have the resources and opportunities that are available to other persons.

Example: CASTE SYSTEM

• In the caste system, communities/groups of people were placed in a sort of ladder where each caste was either above or below the other.
• Those who placed themselves at the top called themselves upper caste and the groups placed at the bottom of ladder were seen as untouchables.
• The untouchables were not allowed to enter houses of upper castes or take water from village well, or even enter temples, their children could not sit next to children of other castes in school. They didn't enjoy the sans rights as upper caste people.
