" Inertia "
The tendency of a body to oppose or resist any change in its state of rest or motion is called inertia of a a body.
Example :
A carpet is beaten with a stick to remove the dust.
Here which dust shows inertia to maintain their state of rest which allows it makes them to leave the carpet.

law of inertia states that if a body is in motion then it will remain in motion and if it is at rest then it will remain at rest until and unless an external force is applied on it.
eg- if a car is moving then it will keep on moving until we stop it and if it is already stopped then it will be 8n the same position till we start it.
