example: moving forward when a car stops suddenly

It is the tendency of an object to maintain it's state of rest or motion until an external force is applied.

There are two types of inertia :-

•• Inertia of rest ( e.g. sitting on table)

•• Inertia of motion ( e.g. moving of a car )
